Hello Alfred, it was a pleasure reading the details of your life since I saw you in Avignon almost fifty years ago. I was a junior at Fisk University, and you were a graduate student at Brown University. I often wondered what became of those I hung out with on the plaza, after class for a snack. I read a lot about Andre, and now I am caught on you. Although I did not do graduate work in French,my love for the language served me well when I wrote my dissertation on the political philosophy of Ahmed Sekou Toure, former president of Guinea. I have been teaching economics, and political science at Wentworth Institute of Technology, in Boston (37 years). Retirement will be soon. If reflection on my life and career is half as robust and satisfying as yours, then I shall know that I am in good company.

Leon, what a surprise! I must I know our name but am having difficulty placing a face with it. I looked you up on the Wentworth website, but there is no picture of you on the departmental page. My stepdaughter lives in Malden so we get to the Boston area quite frequently. I’ll let you know when we plan to be there next. At the moment,Covid-19 has limited our travels and we’ve had to cancel trips domestically and internationally.
